This had to be one of the first blog posts under Brands We Love. I first came across Revivo Candela while searching for retail items for my yoga studio’s shop. I’ll admit, it was no easy feat to find a candle brand that was local, eco-friendly, made of natural material, incredibly fragrant and had a beautiful design. Well I am happy to say I found a brand that fulfilled my wish list and then some!
Revivo Candela candles are the crème de la crème of the candle world, with heart, sustainability, and a consciousness behind them. These marvellous handmade soy candles come all the way (not so far for us) from Hamburg. They offer a great range in scents from the familiar to the extraordinary. Jasmine Green Tea, Neroli Blossom and Ylang Ylang are among my personal favourites.
The soy wax burns beautifully and doesn’t leave behind waxy residue or a subtle whiff of chemical smell in the air. Soy wax has a long list of pluses when it comes to candles. The wax is actually produced from soybeans which are a natural and renewable resource, YAY! Soy candles burn longer than their standard paraffin relatives so your Revivo Candela has around 55 hours of burning, leaving you plenty of time to fill your space with the incredible fragrance.
The wax from these babies is biodegradable so, if for some reason you have a little accident, don’t worry. The wax will come straight off in the washing machine or with a bit of soap and good old elbow grease. With the help of their untreated wooden wicks these candles have a smooth and even burn, keeping your precious candle alive for as long as possible and what’s more, once it’s lit, you do not have to interfere (flashbacks to having the even out the wax to allow the wick to burn).
The renewable elements of these candles do not end at the wax, the glass jars which house the soy product can be washed and reused. Your jar can be reincarnated as whatever you want. I use mine as water glasses for the studio and WINE glasses at home. The soy wax washes away with ease and all you have to do is remove the label and you’re done.
Maybe packaging is not so important when you buy something for yourself, but if its intended as a gift, attention to detail is important. Revivo Candela candles come in a small drawstring fabric bag. It’s very minimalist, but on trend which makes them fantastic gift ideas. In our studio many people purchase the candles for this reason and then come back for their own! So we have the quality, sustainability, reusable jar and now to the important bit, where to buy and how much?
You can buy Revivo Candela candles direct from their website. In case you want to see the candles up close and personal, they also list their resellers located across Germany.
